프랑코 독재 시절의 종말과 그로 인한 자유의 도래를 알리는 상징인 썩은 나무 기둥을 노래한 이 곡은 카탈루냐 사람이라면 누구나 알고 있는 노래라고 한다.

카탈루냐의 민중가요인 L'ESTACA(기둥)를 듣다가, 그 곡의 번안곡을 찾게 되었다.
수 년전 세상을 뜬 폴란드 민중가수 야첵 카츠마르스키(JACEK KACZMARSKI)가 1978년 MURY(벽)이라는 제목으로 폴란드어 가사를 붙여 불렀고, 그 후 이 노래는 80년대 초반을 풍미했던 폴란드 노동자 연대 투쟁의 송가가 되었다.
